Standard 3-Hole Drilling (Custom 2, 3, 4 and 5-Hole Drilling)
We offer Standard 3-Hole Drilling. This type of 3 hole drilling is the technique of punching holes in large quantities of paper all at once. The holes in the papers are then used as storage for a binder, these holes keep the pages secure and sections in order. The process can be done with Custom 2, 3, 4 & 5-Hole Drilling depending on the project.
You’ll be able to choose between top or side hole drilling to fit the need of your project. Hole drilling is also great for craft and decorative projects. For instance, if you have wedding invitations you could use a 2 hole drill in the invite to add a decorative ribbon. Make sure text stays at least ½ inch to ¾ inch from the margin, this ensures no text gets cut off during the drilling process so all text is visible.
Drilling is not the same process as hole punching as drilling is not sheer as a regular 3 hole punch. Drilling is done with a drill bit, the bit removes the paper in order to make the hole. The drill bit used is a sharp, long tool but it sometimes has flutes at the end. Drilling is done by the drill bit cutting at a rapid pace to puncture the stack of papers, taking out small volumes of paper at a time with each resolution of the drill bit as pressure is applied.
This drilling process is usually done by a machine known as the drill press. Drilling can take on thick pages quickly and easily, usually drilling can only produce rounded holes. Using a 3 hole drill press gives your project a professional look without the distortion of a standard regular 3 hole punch and is also an affordable option.
